Mission Development

1.                New Mission Plants

·        LCM will plant a second Family of God type mission.

·        LCM will plant a new “culturally specific” mission field.

 2.                Replants

·        LCM will develop programs for intentional community outreach in two of the existing LC-MS congregations in the city     (see Community Development).

·        LCM will develop leadership from within local congregations to lead this outreach (see Leadership Development.)

Community Development

1.                Community Needs Based  Programs

·        LCM will implement programs for housing rehabilitation and development, job training, personal development, and after school programs to begin new ministries and develop outreach in existing congregations.

·        LCM will enter a new phase of funding development through professional grant writers and collaborative programs with existing agencies.

2.                Congregation Initiatives

·        LCM will provide guidance to congregations in developing community initiatives.

·        LCM will develop alternative, renewable funding sources to assist congregations in outreach activities.

Leadership Development

1.                Urban Missionary Training

·        LCM will launch Urban Missionary Training by September 2007.

2.                Congregation Training
·        As the Urban Missionary Training develops it will become the provider of the educational programs to assist local congregations in outreach development.

Organizational Development

1.                Operations
LCM is aligning its operations with the “best practices” for not-for-profit corporations.  Professional guidance is helping LCM leadership in identifying concerns and developing a systematic plan to address those concerns.
