City Churches United

LCM enters into working partnerships with Detroit LC-MS Churches seeking ways to strengthen already existing programs as we create ways to link the unchurched to the Word and Sacrament ministry.  This partnership is successfully raising up, developing, supporting, and placing, Ordained Pastors, Licensed Deacons, Certified Lay Specialists in critical urban outreach.

LCM Children’s Music Education Ministry

In this highly disciplined setting of formal training, boys and girls learn much more than music.  These youth also learn about God’s saving grace and His love for them. Each child is nurtured with the love of Christ and mentored to maximize their full potential. With a repertoire ranging from Bach to spirituals, to jazz, this choir is developing the next generation of musicians to serve the church. 

Preteen Girl’s Institute

An after school safe house program for preteen girls to protect them from violence, drugs, and sexual abuse. With positive mentoring and homework assistance, we aim to enhance their lives. Besides protecting them from negative forces on the streets, the program accomplishes its aim by providing homework assistance, positive mentoring, recreation, healthy snacks, training in etiquette, proper language skills, morals and values. Biblical principles are taught by reading the Bible as part of our reading program

Innovative Mission Initiatives

Taking the Gospel to the street, LCM is boldly proclaiming the Gospel in areas that have been too long ignored.  Through mission initiatives, like LCM’s Family of God Ministry, LCM is reaching the homeless, the mentally challenged, the addicted, the ailing and the aged.  This model ministry is illustrating the life changing power of the Gospel as a church is planted in ground deemed infertile.

Community Care

The love of Christ Jesus proclaimed by the Gospel is physically provided by the caring ministries of LCM.  Through it’s mission ministry and food pantries LCM is providing groceries and meals to hundreds each week.  The needs of many for clothing and household goods are met at no cost through LCM clothing closets. No cost substance abuse counseling and referral is offering hope to many.  LCM is launching new initiatives in community development to rebuild the neighborhoods with affordable housing.

Community Coalitions

Linking with existing community assets, LCM is developing unique networks of strength to face the challenges of impacting urban lives.  Alliances with community food banks multiply our ability to feed the hungry through our ministry.  Alliances with Explorer Posts become the launching pad of new youth groups in our churches. Alliances with neighborhood groups amplifies our voice and presence in the community.
